Greg Wadden

My good chum and lead singer of Right On Yukon!, Greg Wadden, calls me up an says "hey man you wanna do a photoshoot for some art gallery of nova scotia project".

so i said sure.

The project is that you have your photo taken holding a photo of the person that recommended you to the project.
After I was recommended, they asked me if i would paint my interpretation of Greg's photo for MY photo.

Here's the results.

Which I wanted to say 'hey! i'm super awesome! lets be awesome together! awesome!'

but instead

i think it ACTUALLY says 'i'm awkwardly tense!.....and i have these weird spider fingers.'

Zombie Show!

Tonight at The Seahorse in Halifax, I'll be showing work in a zombie show!

the way the blood oozes off the scalp in the background makes me uncomfortable.

but if they do

this one unfortunately wont be included in the show as it doesn't work well with the others.

gotta maintain a great visual composition too and this one doesnt fit.

Nocturne!

For those of you who aren't familiar with Halifax, every year we have a public, city wide art crawl called 'Nocturne'. It's basically a rad event where everyone comes out at night to view hundreds of little art exhibits all over the city. 

Myself and Nick Brunt were commissioned to do some pieces for the Halifax public archives.

Which is basically a massive collection of photos and articles free for viewing to the public. 

So after a few hours I picked 2 photos: author Ernest Buckler and folk musician Don Messer

Commercial!

Check this out!
It's my first directed commercial!

The commercial came as a commission from Alex Leguerrier at Saint Thomas University for a non profit organization called DotsNB.
The organization raises money for kids' mental health.

I had the amazing team of: Jonathan Brayer as the after effects compositor and Ryan Gainer who composed the music.

Everything turned out great and exactly what the client asked for.
Can't complain about that!
Great experience for my first major commercial directing gig!

Roller Town!

I was commissioned by an industry buddy of mine, the fantastical director/workaholic Jay Dahl, to make a poster for Roller Town's premiere.
Roller Town is a film by Picnicface, a local comedy troupe who are doin some rad rad stuff lately!

Fuckin Buttons!

First wave of buttons from Fuckin Buttons! is being launched this weekend when I paint at Saint Thomas University!
Gonna sell em as merchandise while we paint!

The irony behind the whole thing though is that because of the ideals the school adheres to, I was asked to censor my brand...
which means
Fuckin Buttons! official debut is as the less impressive "effin buttons!"

The Rural Alberta Advantage!

The Rural Alberta Advantage are playing the Halifax Pop Explosion this year and I've been commissioned to do the show poster!

These cats are high on my 'all time' list so I'm beyond stoked to be able to do their show poster for this year!

Show isn't until October so it'll be awhile before any art is shown
but it's rad news anyway!
